Being graced with the presence of little kids (when they aren’t your own) is truly inspiring. It’s suddenly okay to be wacky, whimsical and childish–not that I really need that excuse. Anyhoo, I recently had the pleasure of hanging with the coolest, hippest wee ones on the planet (I read them bedtime stories on an iPad!) and I couldn’t help but notice their amazing collection of wrist candy–Silly Bandz. These rubbery adornments look like normal bracelets on your wrist, but when taken off, they magically morph into an array of AWESOME shapes! I am on a personal mission to start this trend amongst adults–just FYI.

The other day my friend showed me a Momiji Coco Chanel doll she had been gifted and I was instantly smitten. It came in an origami-esque box with phrases like “I’m Coco crazy for springtime in Paris” and “I like bicycles for two.” TOO CUTE! Not only are the Japanese figurines completely adorable, but they also have a compartment to write your own secret message to be hidden within. Momiji is inspired by friendship and little kindnesses, spreading their message one doll at a time. The collections are constantly changing and emerging fashion designers have been known to give their artistic spin on a few. So next time you want to spread some love, think Momiji!

Current must have: maxi skirts!! And to our delight they showed up all over the Fall 2010 runways, from Peter Som to The Row!! We are so enamored of these bohemian beauties that we’re tossing out our minis for a few more yards of fabric and you should do the same–seriously. Paired with a chunky sweater or dressed up, these skirts can create an elegant ensemble where ever you’re heading. But don’t fret, pets, there is no need to max out for a maxi; you can be fashion forward without draining your bank account and we’ve plucked some lovely options across the billfold board…

From cars to stars, photographer Edward Quinn captured the essence of the ’60s. Snapping shots of celebs in their uber-chic vacation playground, the French Riviera, Quinn’s candid photos shed light on stars’ lives off duty. Not only did he immortalize the big screen icons like Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot and Grace Kelly, he also spent much of his career photographing artists like Picasso and Salvador Dali. Today, his pics exist as a montage of the glitz and glamour of these luminaries and their reign during the golden years of Hollywood…and also make for a fab addition to your coffee table collection!

No one would ever accuse Michael Patrick King and the rest of the SATC creator crew of not capitalizing on their show’s success, especially in the form of product placement. Between HP, Blackberry, Bvlgari, and even the city of Abu Dhabi, it was hard to focus at times. I cross my heart I won’t spoil any sequel plot secrets for those of you who are dragging your cinematic feet, but check out this fat 5 carat rock Big bestows upon Carrie after a little newlywed dramz! If only all men had fine taste in jewelry like Mr. Preston…And true to SATC marketing ploy form, the designer of the black diamond, Itay Malkin, has graciously offered a limited edition of it to the masses at $10K a pop through or itaymalkin.com or patriciafield.com.

The devil in Prada made me do it.
Public Enemy of Fashion, Repeat Offender
These macabre yet fantastic pics come courtesy of Melanie Pullen, who painstakingly recreated true vintage crime scenes culled from the public files of the LAPD and County Coroner’s Office and was graciously loaned pieces from the likes of Prada, Bulgari, Gucci and Chanel. Thank you to my admirer for the gruesome but good gift, which can be purchased at A + R.
