A Floral Tribute To Fashion’s Brightest

July 20, 2010

We’ve gushed before about our love for Isabella Blow, in fact on one of our very first posts was devoted to the late, great fashion editor. Well, we have quite the tearjerker for you if you’ve also been feeling the recent loss of her designer discovery, Alexander McQueen. (If you need to be brought up to to speed, here’s the gist: the two became lifelong friends after she bought his entire Central St. Martin’s graduation collection and both sadly died by their own hands.) Prior to AM’s death, he chose a rose (a coral peach floribunda) to be unveiled at the Hampton Court Palace Flower show as a tribute to his late friend.  Called “Alexander’s Issie,” the rose will now sadly serve as a dual recognition of their fervor for fashion and beauty.
