I am an absolute sucker these days for a good WWII story (perhaps I was Jewish in a past life? Seriously, my consumption has reached *worrisome*) Anyway, MUST READ It Isn’t All Mink by Ginette Spanier. This gutsy chick not only continually evaded the Germans in occupied France, but went on to become the Directrice of postwar Balmain. Talk about the evolution of a tale! From hiding out in secluded mountains to hanging out with Brigitte Bardot and Marlene Dietrich, this is a woman we can all take a nod from.

**sidenote: a grand example of why vintage bookstores are worth digging through! Thank you Jackson Street Booksellers for being my fave spot in my humble hometown.
